Capoeira batizado celebration
Our signature gathering

Eu Trago É Na Ginga

Each year we host our batizado and cord ceremony — days of rodas, live music, workshops, and guest mestres from across the region. It's the heartbeat of our capoeira community, and the whole town is welcome.

Year-round

The kinds of events we host

Many of these return each season, alongside one-off collaborations with local artists and makers.

Paint nights

Sip, paint, and learn the story behind capoeira and cultural imagery — all supplies included.

Open mic nights

Music, poetry, and performance from local artists. Sign up at the door and share your voice.

Batizados & rodas

Cord ceremonies and community circles with live berimbau, song, and guest mestres.

Maker workshops

Hands-on craft sessions with collaborators — soapmaking, kombucha brewing, and more.

Cultural celebrations

Gatherings honoring the music, food, and traditions that make our community rich.

Kids camps & family days

Our House-Cup summer camp and family events — capoeira, science, arts, and play for ages 6–14.

Arts & community

A home for local culture

Alongside the calendar above, Agora is a working home for the artists who make this region rich.

Artist-led workshops

Monthly workshops in dance, music, movement, and cultural arts — led by local artists, for youth and adults.

Artist residencies

Short-term residencies where regional artists develop and present new work in our studios.

Gallery shows & showcases

Quarterly exhibitions and live performances — capoeira, music, and cultural arts, open to the public.

For cultural practitioners

A platform that pays

Arts funding concentrates in cities, and roughly a third of artists are self-employed — leaving cultural practitioners in small towns without stable platforms. We change that.

  • Paid teaching opportunities

Consistent, compensated work — not one-off gigs.

  • Revenue-sharing & visibility

Performances and events that grow your audience.

  • Subsidized workspace

Studio and office access through our tenant program.
